Description: Unlock your full vocal potential and enhance your stage presence by joining HCC's Music Program for an exclusive recital and masterclass with Dr. Gwendolyn Alfred, Assistant Professor of Voice at Texas Christian University. With a passion for nurturing versatile musicians from all backgrounds, Dr. Alfred brings a wealth of experience across a diverse range of musical genres. Her dynamic approach to teaching blends technical skill with expressive artistry, empowering students to discover their unique musical voice. While this masterclass will primarily focus on vocal technique, instrumentalists are also encouraged to attend, as the insights shared will resonate with musicians of all disciplines. Dr. Alfred will perform works by Black American women composers, featuring texts by Black American women poets. She will be accompanied by collaborative pianist, Melisa Gültan, an HCC Music Alumnus.
