Glenda and David Regenbaum Center for Entrepreneurship - HCC Northwest.

HCC is collaborating with WorkTexas to offer an EXPANDED ONSITE program. WorkTexas offers Customer Service Training. HCC offers six three-hour onsite sessions based on the Mattress Mack philosophy of sales practices in collaboration with Jim McIngvale.

Evenings, Monday - Thursday 8/8 - 9/27 at Gallery Furniture 6006 North Frwy:

• 16 hours - Boot Camp - WorkTexas

  • M, Tu, W, Th, August 8, 9, 10 & 11, 6:00pm - 10:00pm

• 54 hours - Customer Service Training - Work Texas

  • M, W, Th 8/15 - 9/26, 5:00pm - 8:00pm

• 18 hours - HCC Mattress Mack School of Selling^© - Houston Community College

  • Tuesdays 8/23, 8/30, 9/6, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 5:00pm - 8:00pm

The program is designed for individuals seeking additional skills in customer service, customer relations and sales skills to enhance their career, get a better job and/or pursue a career in sales. Highest priority will be given to individuals applying for the expanded program. This new expanded program can also offer some applicants a paid apprenticeship to obtain some work experience while moving through the expanded program. A limited number of seats will be allocated for proposed & startup entrepreneur applicants seeking to attend just the HCC Mattress Mack School of Selling^©.

Applicants who are selected for this program and graduate from it, will earn a Certificate of Completion from the HCC Mattress Mack School of Selling^© to add to your achievements.

Those who complete the longer program will achieve additional recognition from WorkTexas to add to your achievements.

Program Orientation and Training Sessions are held at

• Application-Based - This onsite program is application based. We do encourage early applications 

  • Applicants interested in the Expanded Program AND the Paid Apprenticeship, apply by July 22, 2:00 pm

  • All other applicants apply by July 29, 2:00 pm

• Applications for the Expanded Program will be given first priority.

• Cohort Model - Once a class is selected and the training starts, the class will move through the program together with no other participants in this category joining as the program progresses. All applicants selected must fully commit to attend the entire program and graduate with the class, no partial participation allowed.

• Expanded Program applicants will also be required to fill out a WorkTexas Intake Form immediately following their completion of the HCC application presented here. A link to the WorkTexas intake form will be provided in a confirming email following your completion of the HCC application.

• Proposed and Startup Entrepreneur Applicants seeking to attend the 18 hour program are not required to fill out a WorkTexas Intake Form.

• All Applications can now be Submitted at No Cost - Once applications are reviewed; those individuals selected for acceptance into the class will then be contacted. 

• A note from our program partner, WorkTexas Training Center: Refundable Deposit Upon Graduation - This program is free to all Graduates. However, all chosen applicants selected for participation in the class will be required to submit a $100 deposit before the class starts, which will be returned in full to the participant if/when the participant fulfills all program requirements:

  • Deposits will not be returned to those who do not graduate from the class. Jim McIngvale and HCC are dedicated to offering the HCC Mattress Mack School of Selling^© to the Greater Houston Community. This policy reflects Jim's philosophy that we give this program at no cost to those who fully participate in the opportunity.
