Early in her career, she was employed as an Academic Advisor at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and as a Counselor for St. John School-Based Health in a special education high school in Detroit, MI. She started her journey as an ADA Counselor in Ability Services at Houston Community College at Southeast College in 2008 and transitioned to Ability Services at Central College in 2012, where she is currently employed. She has served in her role as ADA Counselor at Houston Community College for over 16 years. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) specializing in disabilities, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling in Higher Education from Western Michigan University in 1999 and earned her Education Specialist Certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling from Wayne State University in 2004. She brings a breadth of knowledge and experience in issues related to counseling, higher education, and disability related issues.

    Andrew Lofters, Ph.D., is a Program Director with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) within the division of Academic Quality and Workforce. Over the past eight years, Dr. Lofters has been responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and recommending dual credit, early college high school, distance education, and educator preparation policy for the division. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry-Teaching from The University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and his Master of Education in Educational Administration-Principalship and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration-Community College Leadership degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. His dissertation research focused on academic practices utilized by selected Texas early college high schools that promote academic success. Prior to working with the THECB, Dr. Lofters served for five years with Huston-Tillotson University as the Director of the Center for STEM Success and Assistant Director of the W.E.B. DuBois Honors Program, and 20 years with Austin Independent School District as a Science Teacher and Assistant Principal.

    Dr. Brenda Quintanilla has 24 years of experience managing educational technology in K-12 and Higher Ed.  Her expertise includes Ed Tech integration, Distance Learning, Immersive Environments, Instructional Design, and Professional Development. She is past president of Texas Digital Learning Association (TxDLA) and has presented at national conferences and contributed to technology advisory committees. She was recently accepted as a panelist for the 2024 Educause Horizon Report. Quintanilla earned an M.S. in Instructional Technology from UHCL and a Ph.D. in Learning Technologies from UNT. She is a Regional Manager of Innovative Instructional Technology at Houston Community College in Houston, Texas, and teaches as an Adjunct Professor for Sul Ross University in the Educational Instructional Technology Master of Education Program.

    Dr. Samantha M. Rodriguez is the Co-Coordinator of the Bridge (PUENTE) Program and a History and Humanities Professor at Houston Community College. She received her Ph.D. in 20th Century U.S. History and Mexican American History from the University of Houston. Rodriguez is a part of the 2023-2024 HCC-Southeast Excelencia in Education Team, a data-driven initiative to intentionally serve Latina/o students while serving all students. She was also a fellow for the 2023 Mellon Foundation Ethnic Studies Educators’ Academy. Rodriguez has participated in the National Endowment for the Humanities projects and institutes “Civil Rights in Black and Brown Oral History Project” and “Towards a People’s History of Landscape--Part 1: Black and Indigenous Histories of the Nation’s Capital.” Her research has been featured in the University of Texas Press anthologies "¡Chicana Movidas!: New Narratives of Activism and Feminism in the Movimiento Era!" (2018) and "Civil Rights in Black and Brown: Histories of Resistance and Struggle in Texas" (2021).
