HB8 fundamentally transformed how the state of Texas funds its community colleges. While almost all of the funds are tied to student outcomes such as obtaining a credential, transferring to a four- year university, or earning 15 credit hours in Dual Credit, it also created Financial Aid for Swift Transfer (FAST) funding. The goal of the funding is to ensure finances do not prevent eligible high school students from participating in dual credit offerings. This presentation will provide information on FAST and what it means for HCC.

Dr. Samantha Rodriguez, PhD. - Co-Coordinator, Puente Program
Are you interested in learning more about culturally relevant and other practices that increase student success? This session will focus on the HCC Bridge (PUENTE) Program's core student success practices, including the importance of care in the classroom, incorporating a culturally relevant pedagogy that affirms students and builds upon their life experiences, and how to create a sense of belonging through learning communities.

Osvaldo Gomez - Director, EEO and Complience (Interim)
Marina Guerra, Outreach & Education Coordinator, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Practicing civil behavior establishes a safe and empathetic environment where individuals can contribute their best ideas, knowing they will be heard and valued. Civility is more than making others feel comfortable. It is about creating a dynamic, diverse, and productive workplace where everyone can thrive. To do so, employees need to be familiar with the policies and regulations that govern a discrimination and harassment-free workplace.
