Bechtel & Eli Lilly in Houston

Eli Lilly and Company is developing a $6.5 billion pharmaceutical manufacturing facility at Generation Park in the Houston area. The project is expected to support approximately 4,000 construction jobs during development and create more than 600 permanent positions when operational.

Bechtel's Manufacturing & Technology business is supporting the Houston project, creating opportunities for skilled craft professionals as this major advanced manufacturing development moves forward.

Current Opportunities Include:

  • โšก Electrician / Electrical Journey (400+ Positions Available)

    Bechtel is seeking experienced electricians to support commercial-grade electrical construction and installation projects. Electricians will install, maintain, test, and service electrical systems and equipment while following established safety procedures and construction specifications.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • โšก Install electrical conduit, wiring, lighting fixtures, switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and other electrical equipment.
    • ๐Ÿ“ Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and installation plans.
    • ๐Ÿ”ง Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using hand and power tools.
    • ๐Ÿ”Œ Pull and connect wiring and power cables to equipment and electrical systems.
    • ๐Ÿงฐ Test installed equipment for safety and electrical compatibility and assist with troubleshooting defective equipment.
    • ๐Ÿ‘ท Supervise and train electrician helpers as needed.
    • ๐Ÿฆบ Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all required safety procedures.
    • ๐Ÿชœ Work on ladders, elevated surfaces, and uneven terrain while safely handling tools and construction materials.

Physical Requirements:

  • Candidates should be prepared for a physically active construction environment that may include frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 lbs., climbing vertical ladders, crouching, kneeling, reaching, balancing, overhead work, and walking on even and uneven surfaces throughout the workday

 

  • ๐Ÿ”ง Electrical Helpers / Apprentices (100+ Positions Available)

    Bechtel is seeking Electrical Helpers / Apprentices to work alongside experienced electricians in preparing commercial worksites and supporting the safe installation, maintenance, and servicing of electrical systems. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working as part of a professional construction team.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • โšก Assist electricians with the installation and servicing of electrical systems and equipment.
    • ๐Ÿ”ง Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit using hand and power tools.
    • ๐Ÿ”Œ Splice wires and connect wiring to lighting fixtures, power equipment, switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
    • ๐Ÿงฐ Pull and connect power cables and assist with testing installed equipment for safety and compatibility.
    • ๐Ÿ“ฆ Unload, carry, position, and secure materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
    • ๐Ÿ‘ท Coordinate assigned work with electricians and other team members.
    • ๐Ÿฆบ Follow established safety procedures when working around electrical systems and hazardous wiring.
    • ๐Ÿชœ Climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and safely navigate uneven terrain while carrying tools and materials.
    • ๐Ÿงน Maintain a clean and safe worksite and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Candidates should be prepared for an active construction environment that may require frequent lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 50 lbs., climbing vertical ladders, pulling cable, crouching, kneeling, squatting, reaching, balancing, bending, overhead work, and walking on even and uneven surfaces throughout the workday.
