Music Student Auditions & Assessment | May 2025
All Instruments And Voices!
HCC Central Fine Arts Center
May 17th | 9am—12pm
FREE
Description: Incoming music students will audition for music faculty to determine ensemble placement and aid applied faculty with preparations for lessons. The auditions will not affect admissions to the music department.
Students with music performance experience should prepare one to two contrasting selections as well as scales. Students without any music performance experience need to declare their primary instrument or voice.
After the performance audition, students will take a music theory placement exam to determine the most appropriate music theory course.
Finally, students will meet with the department chair for advisement, financial aid, and admissions.
This event is intended for both high school students and adults looking to pursue an associate's degree in music.
Parking is available in the garage next to the Fine Arts Center. Here's a map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LxgTkfwGfKCfcv7Z6
