Dr. Cynthia Lenton-Gary is Chair of the Houston Community College Board Trustees and Trustee for District VII. She was the first African American female to serve in city government for the city of Missouri City and the first African American woman appointed to the Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD) Board of Trustees. Dr. Lenton-Gary has a master’s degree in Sociology from Prairie View A&M University of Texas, a doctorate in Christian Counseling from Newburgh Theological Seminary, and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

Margaret Ford Fisher, Ed.D., began her tenure as Houston Community College’s (HCC) Chancellor on September 1, 2023. Dr. Ford Fisher has been a lifelong advocate for education locally, nationally, and internationally. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in the Teaching of English from Wichita State University and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Houston.
