Dr. Anthony C. Perez, Program Manager, DESSE

Albert Gorup,
This session introduces a structured framework of AI-supported instructional strategies designed to calibrate teaching practices across this boundary. Rather than focusing on AI as a tool, the framework positions AI as a support for instructional decision-making, enabling instructors to provide appropriate scaffolding while maintaining college-level expectations. Strategies include bridging modules for underprepared students, structured feedback and misconception diagnostics, guided use of AI for learning, and consistent communication practices that support persistence.
The session(s) will demonstrate how these strategies can be adapted based on instructor background, helping high school instructors increase rigor and independence, while supporting college instructors in providing clearer structure and guidance. Participants will gain practical, immediately usable techniques that align instructional quality across institutions and improve student engagement, academic performance, and readiness for postsecondary success.
