This section will provide all the information relevant to your student organization including finance, risk management, policies, and procedures and more. Our goal for this section is to provide you with as many training resources to empower you as a leader and help your student organization thrive. If you have any suggested trainings feel free to share suggestions with the Office of Student Life at hcc.studentlife@hccs.edu.
Please be sure to set aside some time to go through this training and use these resources all year long any time you need to review.

Description
This section of Student Leader Training includes Title IX and Risk Management training. Both trainings are required annually by all HCC student leaders.
Title IX
Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in education programs. This training provides information on what Title IX is, who it protects, how to file a claim and more.

Risk Management
The Risk Management department fully supports Houston Community College by maintaining a program of risk management that protects the personnel, students and assets of HCC.

Description
Any HCC student organization, or faculty/student/staff can apply for funding from the College Activity Board (CAB). In order to be granted funding student organizations must complete a CAB request form. Please note that an advisor may not complete the CAB forms if there are no members currently in the student organization.
The following requirements are mandatory.

Prior to the submission deadline, a representative of each organizations requesting funding must attend a CAB training. Representatives must attend a CAB Training every Fall and Springs semester.

All information requested in the CAB Proposal must be attached.

The packet must be submitted to the Student Life Office at the respective campus.

All student organizations should have a student representative from their organization or club attending Student Government Association general assembly meetings at least once per month.

All organizations not meeting these requirements may not be eligible for funding. The Chair of the Student Fee Advisory Committee may decide to grant funding only in extenuating circumstances.
