HCC Mattress Mack School of Selling
From Launch to Now
HCC Thanks Jim McIngvale and Gallery Furniture
We developed the series in 2020, after a conversation between Dr. Zachary Hodges, President HCC NW and Jim McInvale and input from our Entrepreneur in Residence, David Regenbaum.
We thank Mr. McIngvale for sharing his Mattress Mack philosophy of sales with curriculum developers and session facilitators, Austin Tenette and Dr. Kimberly Burroughs who applied their expertise to develop outstanding session content, and then deliver it.
Deep thanks to Jim McIngvale and Gallery Furniture for funding our efforts in the earlier years. We launched the first cohort virtually in Summer 2021 during the COVID Pandemic. We began offering the series onsite in 2022, the same year Jim McIngvale was our our keynote speaker at the HCC Foundation Gala, and he surprised us all, announcing a big donation to HCC from the stage!
Since then, we've continued offering both virtual and onsite cohorts, evolving the curriculum as we go. The virtual cohort is most popular because it's convenient and our presenters are so compelling. The onsite is highly sought as well, but space is limited. So we accept applications for the onsite series, but all applicants can't necessarily get accepted.
In 2023, Landi Spearman came on board to deliver three of the sessions after Dr. Burroughs moved out of state. In keeping with Mack's philosophy, we seek continuous improvement, and our curriculum continues to evolve with Landi's and Austin's expertise, and feedback from all involved.
We so appreciate Jim McIngvale's continued involvement in every cohort!
Here's where we stand now for the HCC Mattress Mack School of Selling:
- 4 years
- 9 Cohorts - 4 Virtual & 5 Onsite
- 380 Total Graduates / Alumni
The virtual series in August 2025 allows more participation, so we encouraged all who could participate to go for it! Registration is now closed for this series.
The onsite series in September - October 2025 is now open for registrations/applications. Space is limited onsite, so all applicants cannot be guaranteed acceptance. We suggest submitting a thoughtful registration/application.
We look forward to graduating Cohorts 10 and 11 this Fall 2025!
