Dear HCC Family:

As you know, we have HCC’s Fall Convocation scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026, at Reliant Center. Convocation requires the attendance of all employees except faculty and essential personnel needed to serve students at each college. The morning begins with breakfast and registration at 8 a.m. The Convocation program begins at 9:00 a.m.

Convocation impacts our campus operations. Please note the following:

• Regularly scheduled classes will be held at their regularly scheduled location and time.
• Employees (except College Operations staff, other essential staff identified by College leadership, and faculty teaching Friday morning  classes) scheduled to work Friday morning can report directly to Reliant Center at 8 a.m.  Talent Engagement will enter the appropriate number of hours (Special College Event-SCE) into payroll for part-time non-exempt employees scheduled to work during Convocation, who register for convocation and check in at NRG Center.  Additional instructions will be provided to Managers/Supervisors as necessary.
• Full time non-exempt employees will need to enter their own time using SCE for 4 hours. Employees should return to their assigned work locations, Friday afternoon,  following convocation.
• College Operations staff should contact their supervisor for schedule details, as they may be needed to support on-campus classes and activities.
• Those in need of special accommodations identified during event registration, should arrive at 8:00 a.m. to allow for assistance.
