Event Highlights:
📐 Design Challenge: Dive into a real-world design problem that demands your creative problem-solving skills. Client and challenge will be introduced the morning of the event.
🎨 Design Skills: Throughout the day, harness your design expertise and utilize cutting-edge Apple technology and apps to create a mobile app protoype for delivery to a client.
🏆 Prizes*: The stakes are high! Create a stunning final product and present it to our panel of judges for a chance to win exciting prizes.
This year we will be raffling off:
(1) Wacom One Pen Display 12 ($299) value
(1) $50 Amazon gift card
(1) $50 HEB gift card.
Prizes for winning designs:
1st Place: $1000 HCC grant
2nd Place: $750 HCC grant
3rd Place: $500 HCC grant
5 honorable mentions $250 each
*Winners will have the money transferred to their HCC student account. You can choose to withdraw the money as cash.
Requirements:
📌 Basic Knowledge: Participants are expected to have a basic understanding of design apps like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Apple apps such as Keynote, or other presentation apps for protoype creation.
🤝 Faculty/Mentor Support: Our experienced faculty mentors will be on hand to assist you with any technical or app-related challenges. They will guide you through any hurdles you encounter but won't be offering feedback on your designs.
📱 Bring Your Own Tech: While we will provide access to Apple iPads and laptops, you are encouraged to bring your own technology if you prefer. Feel free to work with the tools you are most comfortable with!
🖥️ Digital Submission: To have your design judged, you must submit a digital file that is ready for production, and/or demonstrable. Production specifications will be included in the creative brief presented at the beginning of the day.
