Session Overview

Anaplan is a cloud-based business planning and performance management platform that enables organizations to model, plan, and forecast across business functions. It uses a proprietary in-memory calculation engine called Hyperblock, which allows users to work with large, complex data sets in real time.

HCC will be using the Anaplan system to support collaborative planning by connecting data, people, and plans in a single platform. It allows collaboration among users, workflow approval transparency, and reporting. During the Budget Development and Planning process, stakeholders will have the opportunity to reallocate base budgets and input, review, and prioritize funding requests to align with operational needs for the new fiscal year. Anaplan gives stakeholders access to reports that provide transparency of data at various stages of the budget planning process and allows the ability to track changes and decisions made in the input and approval workflow. The reporting functionality will also provide transparency into the day-to-day budget management process by providing daily updates for position management, vacancy reporting, and available budget balances. 

The training sessions will allow end users to learn about the Anaplan system and how to use it for submission of budget planning information and requests. It will give users an opportunity to receive hands-on training and experience the look and feel of the system. The trainer will take users through detailed step-by-step instructions for accessing, logging into, and navigating the Anaplan system; completing the budget reallocations, position planning, and funding request process; and understanding the workflow submission and approval process. Also included is a walk-through of the various budget management and tracking reports.
