We Need Your Input!
Roundtable Discussion with Houston's Corporate, Civic and Government Workforce Leaders:
Launching The Regional Resiliency Center of Excellence for Houston
Join the Chancellor of Houston Community College and the leadership team of the Regional Resiliency Center of Excellence for an important "feedback" session on the vital training, skills development and certifications in disaster preparedness, response and rebuild.
Prone to persistent disasters—from floods to pandemics, fires to ice—Greater Houston employers, civic organizations and government institutions have faced back-to-back challenges that have tested our resilience. We have a moment now to ensure that our citizens and communities have the skills to install, operate, and maintain new technologies, equipment, digital and data tools that will reduce loss of life and their possessions, while also increasing preparedness in their jobs and places of employment. We will introduce our "Resilience 101 + CERT" program - Simply put, every citizen is a first responder!
The demand for increased disaster and risk preparedness has been made all the more relevant for our critical industries, employers, and their facilities - both public and private - as the cost for recovery and rebuilding has reached more than $1 trillion along the U.S. Gulf Coast! Fortifying your assets, infrastructure, operations, and logistics is aligned with existing and emerging insurance and reinsurance "drivers" for pre-disaster financial benefit. Disaster preparedness means a direct economic risk reduction!
During the March 10th Roundtable, we seek your input on our Inaugural Credential Portfolio to ensure the curricula, content, and delivery meets the highest of expectations for employers, employees, organizations, and institutions across Greater Houston:
| · Public Safety, Transportation, and Rescue | · Facilities, Infrastructure, and Operational Resilience |
| · Medical Triage | · Debris Removal and Reuse |
| · Disaster Case Management | · Energy, Power, and Water Operation Risk Reduction |
| · New Construction and Retrofit Maintenance | · Data Science, Internet of Things, Drones for Assessment and Recovery |
We will conclude the morning with a strategic path for your company, organization, or institution identifying next steps before the Center of Excellence announcement in late April.
Registration closes on March 9, 12 noon.
