HCC's Digital & Information Technology Center of Excellence invites middle school students that are passionate about Cybersecurity to take part in its GenCyber Eagle Summer Institute cybersecurity camp. The goal of GenCyber camps is to ignite, increase and sustain awareness of secondary cybersecurity content and cybersecurity postsecondary and career opportunities for participants through year-round engagement.
THE CAMPS
The weeklong summer camp aims to reach middle school students, particularly, those from underrepresented and underserved communities and expose cybersecurity-focused students to the latest technologies and pathways to high-impact tech careers. Participation in the camps, along with daily lunch, are provided free of charge. Students will have hands-on experience with a variety of tools and equipment throughout the camps.
A REWARDING EXPERIENCE
They will acquire Cybersecurity knowledge and skills demanded by the federal and state governments, companies, and industry, while forming the building blocks for rewarding future careers. Upon completion, the students will receive advice on career opportunities in cybersecurity. They will also receive guidance on applying for college and pursuing workforce degrees.
